Bu çalışma bir eğitim kurumunun mekansal olarak bedensel engelliler açısından uygunluğunu araştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada eğitim yapılarının bedensel engellilere yönelik düzenlemeler hakkında bazı araştırmalar yapılarak bir yükseköğretim kurumuna ait eğitim binası ve yerleşkesi incelenmiştir. Biyoharmoloji bilimi doğrultusunda engelli bireylerin gereksinimleri dikkate alınmıştır. İnceleme kriterleri ise engelliler için tasarım kriterleri ve biyoharmolojik mekânsal nitelikler doğrultusunda belirlenmiştir. Eğitim kurumunun bulunduğu yerleşkede görme engelli bireyler için hissedilebilir uyarı ve takip yüzeylerinin kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra asansör, rampalar ve engelli bireylere özgü tuvaletlerin mevcut olduğu görülmüştür. İncelenen yükseköğretim kurumu ve bulunduğu yerleşkede engelli bireylerin idari birimlere, dersliklere, laboratuvarlara, atölyelere, kantin ve yemekhaneye ulaşımlarının sorunsuz bir şekilde sağlanabileceği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu birimlerin kullanılabilirlik bakımından da engelli bireyler açısından uygun olarak tasarlandığı belirlenmiştir.

This study has carried out in order to investigate the suitability of an educational institution in terms of physical disabilities. The study building and the campus belonging to a higher education institution have investigated by carrying out some researches about the arrangements related to the physical disabilities of the education buildings. The requirements of disabled individuals have been taken into consideration in terms of bioharmology science. The review criteria have determined in the direction of design criteria and bioharmonic spatial qualities for the handicapped. For the visually impaired individuals in the settlement where the training institution is located, tactile warning and follow-up surfaces were used. In addition, elevators, ramps and handicapped toilets have been found to be available. It has been determined that access to the administrative units, classrooms, laboratories, workshops, canteens and cafeterias of the disabled students who are examined in the higher education institution and the settlement where they are located can be provided without problems. In addition, it has been determined that these units are appropriately designed in terms of usability for disabled people.
