Yapay zekâ kavramını, “zeki” olarak atfedilen canlıların gerçekleştirdiklerini, makinelerin yerine getirebilmesi amacı taşıyan çalışma alanı olarak tanımlamak mümkündür. Yapay zekâ sistemleri gelişen teknoloji ile birlikte birçok alanda yeni açılımlar göstermektedir. Bu alanlardan biri de iç mimarlıktır. Yapılan bu çalışmada, çeşitli çevrelerce bilince sahip olmadığı gerekçesi ile insan kadar iyi tasarımlar yapamayacağı öngörülen yapay zekânın, örnekler üzerinden mekân tasarım sürecine katkıları değerlendirilecektir. Böylelikle, yapılan bu çalışma aracılığı ile yapay zekânın günümüzde tasarım sürecinin neresinde olduğu ve iç mekân tasarımcısına ne derece faydalı olduğuna dair değerlendirmeler yapılabilecektir. Çalışma sonucunda, yapay zekânın ağırlıklı olarak tasarımcıya mekân tasarımının analiz ve sentez basamağı hususunda oldukça faydalı çıktılar sağladığı tespit edilmiştir. Bunun yanında mekân tasarım sürecinde iç mimar ve süreçte kullanılan yapay zekâ sistemi arasında ortaklık olarak tanımlanabilecek bir döngü kurulduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bu durumu gelecekte yapay zekâ sistemlerinin iç mimarlık mesleğinin tanımını değişikliğe uğratabileceğine dair önemli bir bulgu olarak yorumlamak mümkün görünmektedir.

It is possible to define the concept of artificial intelligence as the field of work that is intended to be performed by the machines that are realized of work that is intended to be performed by the machines that are realized by the living creatures that are attributed as “intelligent”. Artificial intelligence systems show new expansions in many areas with developing technology. One of these areas is interior architecture. In this study, the contribution of artificial intelligence, which is thought to not be able to make designs as good as human beings, on the grounds that it does not have consciousness by various circles, will be evaluated through the examples. Thus, through this study, it will be possible to make assessments about where artificial intelligence is in the design process today and how useful it is for interior architect. As a result of the study, it has been found that artificial intelligence provides the designer with very useful outputs on the synthesis step of the space design. In addition, it has been observed that a cycle can be defined as a partnership between the interior architect and the artificial intelligence system used in the process. It is possible to interpret this situation as an important finding that artificial intelligence systems may change the definition of the interior architecture profession in the future.
