Üniversiteler, toplumu ve kenti yönlendiren, aynı zamanda da kenti ve toplumu yansıtan öncü kurumlardır. Üniversite ve kampüs yaşamında spor alanları, öğrenciler ve diğer kullanıcılar tarafından en fazla tercih edilen mekanlar arasında yer alarak, öğrencilerin fiziksel, zihinsel, ruhsal, sosyal ve kültürel bakımdan gelişimlerine katkı sağlamaktadırlar. Spor alanları içerisinde en fazla kapasiteye sahip spor aktivitelerinin gerçekleştiği mekanlar ise açık saha ve tribün mekanlarıdır. Bu mekanlar, ihtiyaçlara göre spor dışında farklı etkinliklere de imkan tanıyabilmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışma, sözü edilen özellikler ile Kırklareli Üniversitesi, Kayalı Kampüsü yaşamında ön plana çıkan, üniversitenin kurumsal kimliğine katkı sağlayan bir spor tesisi olarak Spor Sahası ve Tribünü’nün planlama yaklaşımları doğrultusunda mimari tasarım sürecini ele almaktadır.

Universities are pioneering institutions that direct society and the city, and reflect the city and society at the same time. Sports fields in university and campus life are among the most preferred places by students and other users, contributing to the physical, mental, spiritual, social and cultural development of students. Among the sports fields, the places where sports activities with the highest capacity take place are open field and tribune areas. These venues can provide opportunities for different activities other than sports, depending on the needs. In this context, the study addresses the architectural design process of the Sports Field and Tribune as a sports facility that stands out in the life of Kırklareli University, Kayali Campus with the mentioned features and contributes to the institutional identity of the university.
