PROBLEM ÇÖZME STRATEJİSİ ÖĞRETİMİNİN MATEMATİĞE YÖNELİK TUTUMA ETKİSİ

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Problem Çözme Stratejisi Öğretiminin matematiğe yönelik tutumların üzerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmanın deseni ön test-son test kontrol gruplu bir deneme modelidir. Araştırma deneklerini, 2005–2006 eğitim-öğretim yılı İzmir ili sınırları içinde, biri Anadolu Lisesi diğeri Normal Lise olmak üzere iki ortaöğretim kurumunda okuyan 32 dokuzuncu sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Denel işlemler toplam 8 haftada gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deney grubu üzerinde Problem Çözme Stratejisi öğretimi, sesli düşünme yöntemiyle sunulmuştur. Kontrol grubuna ise Problem Çözme Stratejisi Öğretimi yapılmadan ölçekler uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Matematiğe Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, Problem Çözme Strateji Öğretiminin deney gruplarındaki öğrencilerin matematik tutum puanlarında olumlu etkili olduğu görülmüştür.

THE EFFECT OF TEACHING PROBLEM SOLVING STRATEGY ON ATTITUDES FOR MATHEMATICS

The main aim of this research is to examine the effects of problem solving strategies on attitudes for mathematics. The experimental group consisted of 32 9th grade students studying in two secondary level education institutions, one being a college, the other being a normal high school, in the spring semester of 2005-2006 academic years in Izmir. The experimental work was completed in 8 weeks. In this research experimental design with pre and post-test groups were used. Teaching problem solving strategy was applied in the course of teaching problem solving strategy by using the method of thinking aloud. In this research the data collection instrument was The Scales of Attitudes towards Mathematics. The results have shown that using the teaching of problem solving strategy has positive effects on students’ attitudes towards Mathematics.
