Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil, Türk dili meselelerine romancı kimliği ile yaklaşmıştır. O, yalnız dil problemlerini tespit etmekle kalmamış bunlara çözüm önerileri de getirmiştir. Onun sıraladığı teklifler günümüzde uygulanabilir mahiyettedir. Özellikle imlâ, telaffuz, yabancı özel adların yazımı gibi konularda dile getirdiği problemler günümüzde hâlâ üzerinde zaman zaman tartışılan konular olması yönüyle güncelliğini devam ettirmektedir. Bu sorunlara yazarın yarım asır önce getirdiği teklifler günümüze kadar uygulanmamıştır. Yazarın dilci mantığı ile değil de edebiyatçı kişiliği ile dil problemlerine bakması ve bu problemlere somut çözümler sunması dikkate değerdir.

Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil, has worked Turkish language issues with novelist ID. He have not only identified the language problems but also brought solutions to them. Proposals that he sorted can be applied today. The problems that he voiced especially as spelling, pronunciation, spelling of foreign private names continue to being debated issues from time to time today currently. This issues that the author brought the proposals half-century ago did not applied still to the present. It’s important the author's approaching to the problems and offering its concrete suggestions with not logic of linguists but novelist personality.
