DEMİR-ÇELİK SEKTÖRÜNDE HAMMADDE TEDARİK SÜREÇLERİNİN DİJİTALLEŞTİRİLMESİ VE OPTİMİZASYONU

Ece OLGAR ESKİLİ1 , Abdulla Sakallı2

DIGITALIZATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF RAW MATERIAL SUPPLY PROCESSES IN THE IRON AND STEEL INDUSTRY

Ece OLGAR ESKİLİ1 , Abdulla Sakallı2

Raw material supply processes in the iron and steel industry are critical for cost control and operational efficiency. In this study, an integrated digital supply management system based on SAP infrastructure was developed to eliminate data loss, delays, and errors caused by manually managed supply processes. Inventory management within the system was supported by Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Reorder Point (ROP) models. The developed digital system provided significant time savings in data entry, reporting, and operational monitoring processes, while reducing error rates. In addition, real-time data accessibility strengthened decision-making processes. The findings demonstrate that digital transformation applications improve operational efficiency in the iron and steel industry and provide a sustainable competitive advantage.
