HEMŞİRELİK EĞİTİMİNDE SİMÜLASYON KULLANIMI DUYGUSAL ZEKÂ VE İLETİŞİM BECERİLERİ ÜZERİNDE ETKİLİ MİDİR?

Sağlık hizmetlerinde yaşanan dönüşüm, hemşirelerin bilgi ve teknik becerilerinin yanında, etkili iletişim kurabilme ve duygusal süreçleri yönetebilme yetkinliklerine sahip olmalarını gerektirmektedir. Hemşire-hasta iletişiminin bakım kalitesi, hasta güvenliği ve memnuniyeti üzerindeki belirleyici rolü, öğrencilerin duygusal zekâ ve iletişim becerilerinin geliştirilmesine yönelik yenilikçi öğretim yöntemlerine olan gereksinimi artırmaktadır. Bu yöntemlerden simülasyon temelli eğitim, öğrencilerin aktif katılımını, bilişsel, duyuşsal ve iletişimsel becerilerin eşzamanlı gelişimini destekleyerek hemşirelik eğitiminde giderek daha fazla yer edinmektedir. Bu uygulamaların duygusal zekâ ve iletişim becerileri üzerindeki olumlu etkileri literatürde vurgulanmaktadır. Simülasyon senaryoları, öğrencilere sadece teknik adımları öğretmekle kalmayıp, karmaşık klinik tablolarda kendi durumlarını yönetme ve hasta ile terapötik bir bağ kurma fırsatı tanımaktadır. Bu yönüyle teorik bilgiyi gerçek yaşamın duygusal derinliğiyle birleştiren bir köprü görevi görmektedir. Bu derleme çalışmasında, simülasyon temelli uygulamaların öğrencilerin duygusal zekâ ve iletişim becerileri üzerindeki etkilerine ilişkin literatür incelenmiş, bulgular bütüncül olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Hemşirelik eğitimcilerine, araştırmacılara ve müfredat geliştirme çalışmalarına katkı sağlaması amaçlanmıştır

DOES THE USE OF SIMULATION IN NURSING EDUCATION HAVE AN IMPACT ON EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS?

The transformation taking place in healthcare requires nurses to possess not only knowledge and technical skills but also the ability to communicate effectively and manage emotional processes. The decisive role of nurse-patient communication in the quality of care, patient safety, and satisfaction increases the need for innovative teaching methods aimed at developing students’ emotional intelligence and communication skills. Among these methods, simulation-based education is gaining increasing prominence in nursing education by supporting students’ active participation and the simultaneous development of cognitive, affective, and communicative skills. The positive effects of these applications on emotional intelligence and communication skills are highlighted in the literature. Simulation scenarios not only teach students technical steps but also provide them with the opportunity to manage their own situations in complex clinical scenarios and establish a therapeutic bond with the patient. In this regard, it serves as a bridge that integrates theoretical knowledge with the emotional depth of real life. In this review study, the literature on the effects of simulation-based applications on students’ emotional intelligence and communication skills was examined, and the findings were comprehensively evaluated. The aim is to contribute to nursing educators, researchers, and curriculum development efforts
