Modern edebiyatta sıklıkla başvurulan bilinç akışı tekniği, Sigmund Freud’un psikanaliz kuramı ve serbest çağrışım metoduna dayanmaktadır. Freud’un, kapitalist toplum insanının psikolojisini incelemek için geliştirdiği ve daha sonra sanatçının yaratım faaliyetini açıklamak için başvurduğu psikanalist metot, edebiyata bilinç akışı tekniği olarak yansır. Psikoloji ilminin ve psikolojik romanın gelişimi, psikanaliz tedavide kullanılan ve serbest çağrışım yöntemine dayanan bilinç akışı tekniğini, bir anlatım biçimi olarak edebiyata kazandırır. Hikâyeye olay örgüsü, kurgusal anlatım, karakterlerin ruh tahlilleri, üslûp ve zaman bakımından katkılar sağlayan bilinç akışı tekniğine başvurulma sebepleri çeşitlidir....

The stream of consciousness technique often used in modern literature is based on Sigmund Freud`s psychoanalytic theory and method of free association. Freud`s developed to analyze the psychology of human in capitalist society and then admitted to explain the activities of creation of the artist; the psychoanalytic method is reflected as stream of consciousness technique in the literature. The development of the science of psychology and psychological novel, used in psychoanalysis and based on free association method the stream of consciousness technique gives the literature as a form of expression. The stream of consciousness technique that contributed to the story in terms of plot, fictional narrative, the spirit of the character analysis, styles and time, reference reasons are varied.
