LENGTH-WEIGHT RELATIONSHIPS OF LESSEPSIAN NAKEDBAND GAPER (Champsodon nudivittis (Ogilby, 1895)) CAPTURED FROM THE GULF OF MERSIN

Nuri BAŞUSTA 1

In this research, total length-weight relationships of the nakedband gaper (Champsodon nudivittis) were examined in the Gulf of Mersin. Champsodon nudivittis individuals were captured at a depth of 125-135m by commercial trawling boat off the Gulf of Mersin. A total of 426 (276 female and 150 male) Champsodon nudivittis were obtained. Minimum-maximum total length and body mass of captured nakedband gaper fishes were determined as 5.7-14.5cm and 0.95-18.51g for females and 6.2-12.5cm and 1.26-13.79g for males respectively. Total length-weight relationships of C. nudivittis were found as W=0.0062(TL)2.996, R2= 0.917, SEb=0.044 for all sexes, W=0.0048(TL)3.094, R2=0.912, SEb=0.058 for females and W=0.0084(TL)2.869, R2=0. 862, SEb=0.095 for males. 95% Confidence intervals for b value were 2.910-3.081 for combined sexes, 2.980-3.209 for females and 2.682-3.056 for males. According to these values, combined sexes observed isometric growth (b=3) (t-test: p<0.05).
