İnternetin yaygınlaşması ve kolay kullanımı bilgi kaynağı olarak kullanımını da artırmaktadır. İnternette bilgi sorgulamanın kolay yöntemlerinden biri de arama motorlarıdır. Arama motorları, hangi düzeyde olursa olsun öğrencilerin internette bilgiyi bulabilmelerini sağlayan önemli başvuru kaynakları arasındadır. Bu araştırmada Konya ili Meram ilçesinde yer alan Mehmet Şükriye Sert İlköğretim Okulundaki 4, 5, 6, 7 ve 8. Sınıflarındaki öğrencilere araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen anket uygulanmıştır. 370 öğrenciden veri toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda bilgi kaynağı olarak internetin ilk sırada geldiği, interneti öğrencileri en çok evden kullandıkları, bilgi arama, oyun oynama, haberleşme amaçlı kullanımlarının ön plana çıktığı, en çok kullanılan arama motorunun Google olduğu ve arama motorları içeisinde aranan bilgi türünün şiir, haber ve bilgi gibi yazı ağırlıklı bilgiler olduğu görülmüştür.

The Internet’s becoming widespread and easy to use, increase to use it like a source of information. One of the easiest methods of searching on the web are the web search engines. The web search engines, which helps all the students to find information on the web is an important reference. In this study, we implemented a survey developed by researchers to the students 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. grader at the primary school Mehmet Şükriye Sert which s situated in Konya, Meram. We gathered data from 370 students. According to the results of this research, we can say that the web comes first as a source of information and that the students use the web at their home for communication, searching for information, play games purposes. Also a result of the research is that Google is the most widely used search engine and that the type of information sought in the search engines are poetry, writing mainly information such as news and information.
