THE EFFECTS OF TEACHING THROUGH PLAY STUDENTS’S PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS IN AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS MATHEMATICS

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of dramatization on skills of solving problems in 5th class Math lesson. In the research, pre-test – final-test controlled group experimental pattern is used. Research is carried on students in primary schools who are studying in the centre of Hatay-Antakya during the 1st semester of 2006-2007 education year. The research study group consist two 5th classes which are selected randomly from two primary schools. The study group comprised of 38 experiment group and 42 in control group as total from 80 students. In experimental group of this study while dramatized Math teaching program is applied for control group, a lesson is carried out based on the curriculum and the program prepared by MEB, research is carried on for 7 weeks in total. In the research, as data collection devices “Math lesson Success Test” and “Math Lesson Attitude Measure” are carried out as pre-test and final-test to both groups and results evaluated in the Findings
